well, the fact that im messing around may not be as cool as the title makes its sound, because im not making some big cd or doing far out recordings but i am having some fun writing new tunes to play and have fun with. The idea of recoding is something that is fascinating for me.
I find myself a very introverted person in the studio. I like to take my time, have fun, be creative, and come up with some awesome stuff(writers terms of awesome applied). I'm really into a live sound.
Orchestral and the Big band sounds have always been at the top of my list of music, i just think how amazing it is that these are sounds that have captivated people in the past. and the best thing is, no one even ever had to say anything! The simplicity(of many formats) of the music is what i find so interesting. Its seems the music is always going somewhere, there is always a journey. First there is always a seemingly simple melody, but then everything seems to add to it, and were moving, then there's always the minor and the big build. Its creating an epic sound and making everyone listening feel the emotion of the music . This kind of sound is what i try to capture each time i write, but defiantly modernized!
Im not very excitedd about working with the "divas" or "pre-madonnas" but I do enjoy working people who could just pull an all nighter just from the whim of some unexplainable musical phenomena that they just discovered. and then after all that, you realize in the morning it really wasn't to good at all, or your computer has crashed! (thats not a fun one to witness)
I love recording music and ill be writing and recording for as long as i can imagine. My songs probably wont be on the radio or at some huge concert but if i can write songs for a congregation and impact one person, or just play a song that someone could listen to each night and fall asleep to, all these would be fine with me. The payoff for me is the process, there is the only place i know for certian what is happening, and what is happening is me enjoying every second of it!
